Straighten out those bunny ears and get comfy!

I'm excited to say; I was given the opportunity to pre-view some new episodes of sitcom series for TBS & TNT networks. With all the fall series gone leaving us with nothing but reruns, I jumped at the opportunity.

The Bill Engvall Show
From Blue collar TV , hilarious redneck comedian Bill Engvall now has his own sitcom. (need I say more?)
I was so thrilled to finally see a descent family sitcom. With this show the family issues are true to life and comical, and (the best part!) I wasn't forced to chase the kids out of the room to watch it!
Pausing a show Every time the kids round the corner, because your afraid of what they might see or hear, does not make for a pleasant evening. The minute it gets good or interesting here they come, then your forced to sit and wait till they leave. Meanwhile you paused it right in the middle of an important sentence and your forced to back it up. I can't tell you how many times we have watched a show and had to back up the same scene four to five times because of them.

"Engvall plays Bill Pearson, a family counselor who can’t always figure out his own family. Nancy Travis (Bght Live, Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story) plays his best friend. The ecker, The Jane Austen Book Club) co-stars as his wife, while Tim Meadows (Saturday Niseries also features the Pearson children, played by Jennifer Lawrence (The Burning Plain), Graham Patrick Martin (The Girl Next Door) and Skyler Gisondo (Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story).

Set in a Denver suburb, Engvall and Travis offer a humorous look at what it takes to be a parent in today’s world. They face parenting issues like allowance controversies, driver’s licenses and parking tickets, all while trying to keep the spark alive in their marriage and balancing work with family life." ...Tbs network

My Boys

I don't Know how I have managed to miss this series, but let me tell you I Love it!! It has all the makings of a chic flic series with all the butch stuff thrown in for the guys. Defiantly a show my husband and I will be able to watch together. All these guys thrown in with their beer, sports and attitude with a butch yet sexy fun chic, caters to a big audience. It has enough humor in it for the men to forget that the whole show revolves around this one woman! (Sly move Tbs writers!)

My advice don't ever use the words chic & show/flic/series together, in anything you want your guy to watch. Otherwise it will be doomed from the beginning!

About the Show; Tv-14 (Although, nothing too harsh to panic when the little ones come running! Whoo-hoo)
"MY BOYS
It is a fresh, contemporary comedy set in Chicago, about friends helping friends through the dating game and life’s challenges. In the cliffhanger at the end of the first season, PJ Stephanie (Stewart) was hopping on a plane with her friend for a double-date trip to Rome. PJ invited some potential companions on this trip and just before take-off, she receives a message that her date is waiting for her in first class. Her mystery companion could be one of three guys; globe-trotting reporter Thorn Packer (Jeremy Sisto); botanist Evan (Michael Landes); or Cubs player Mitt Dougan (Travis Schuldt). It could even be one of her close male friends, such as Bobby (Howard) or Brendan (Scott), given her previous – albeit brief – romantic entanglements with each of them. Once the mystery is solved, PJ and her date join Stephanie and her boyfriend for what they hope will be a fun-filled excursion through Rome. Whether the fun times will continue when they return to U.S. shores remains to be seen.

Meanwhile, PJ’s brother, Andy (Gaffigan), moves back to the city after he and his now-pregnant wife decide they’ve had enough of suburban life. That means Andy will be around for the weekly poker games in PJ’s apartment. They are joined by their close-knit group of friends: Brendan a DJ, who is coming off of just being named one of Chicago’s hottest bachelors; Kenny (Bunin), who recently dated a pregnant woman; Mike (Kaler), who finally found a job working at Kenny’s sports memorabilia store; and Bobby, who faces being viewed differently now that his friends know he’s incredibly wealthy.

Stephanie, PJ’s best friend from when they attended journalism school together, finished the first season on an upswing. After having struggled through a credit crisis, she landed a new boyfriend in the person of Lance (Schuyler Yancey), her credit counselor. Now the two are heading to Rome for a dream vacation with PJ and her mystery man"...Tbs network.

You can see episodes from last season at 12:00 am tonight on TBS (Of course I will be in the bed, leaving the DVR to watch it for me!)
New episodes starting June 12th 9:30 pm

It's called Fishing NOT Catching sweetie

Today we decided to take the kids fishing. Seeing how the last time we attempted this we were on a lake, spent a ton of money renting a boat and were rained out. (which was the only way the line got wet!) We felt it was long over due, and with a bright sunny day why not!

We picked out a spot out on a creek bank, other than a little wind you could say it was a perfect. Unloaded all our gear (which with a baby is like camping out, you bring everything you own!), and only stayed long enough to slather on some sunscreen and get a fishing line stuck in a tree. In less than two feet of a rocky creek branch with a rushing current, it was like fly fishing trying to keep the line from getting stuck. We knew if we stayed the day would be destined to end in tears and decided to move to a better location (a local lake)...
Notice here how everyone is so far ahead of me going to the car. That's because I'm behind toting the baby and all the gear loaded in the stroller. What you can't see in this picture is the ground is very uneven, full of high weeds, and I'm trying to push a stroller with one hand that is clearly not designed for this rugged terrain! Yet, not a care off they go...

Once at the lake we found an awesome spot with a park bench and all. The best part was we could park right at the water. (No toting, yeah!!!) The very first line Madisen threw in she caught her very first fish. In the process of taking it off the line daddy accidentaly slipped and lost the fish back in the water. (which she has yet to let him live down!)

Everything would have been perfect had the lockness monster not showed up. (my biggest fear!) About 3 feet in front of me I see a snake come charging out of the water towards me! Once he popped his head up luckily my screaming scared him back in the water. Up on top of the bench I was ready to abandon all children and run for my life. Unfortunately he wasn't scared off for good. At one point he caught a fish and was standing way up out of the water like a cobra. Holding this fish again he was heading my way! Once Jason scared him in another direction I felt safe to take a picture of him. (Safe, yet still ready to pack up and go home!)

The children were left terrified at my performance and it changed their entire outlook on fishing.
After seeing the snake Madisen's started screaming in terror "something has my line!!" (in her mind it was a snake). At that point were all yelling hurry get it , it's a Fish!! Turned out to be this tiny little 3 in fish, which to hear her tell it now it was 5 ft!

Kailey unfortunately had many bites but didn't catch any fish. All in all there was no complaining or whining to leave, which made for a perfect time. In fact, Kailey didn't understand why we had to leave before she could catch a fish. (we stayed 4 hours!)

My Blue Day Book

Last night Madisen as usual was sitting reading a book.
Being the little comedian that she is she flips the book around and says real serious like...
"Look daddy your pictures in this book"
Showing him this picture;

After that a war was on. Only for some reason I was left out of being targeted.
(Probably because they know I could and would, use my blog as sweet revenge!)
We were all Joking around and looking at the book.
(Blue Day Book by; Bradley Greive)
I noticed an uncanny resemblance. Whoever illustrated this book snuck in our house and went through my photos, I just know it.You take a look and see if you don't think so.

Tell me this isn't Kailey watching Tv!

See...I told you! Yet no residual checks here.

Dust bunny treasures

With the girls home I decided to do a little spring cleaning with their help. One of the things they helped me with was vacuuming under the couch. (I know... Why? No one ever looks under there anyways. Because, I have weird cleaning compulsions that's why! I'll end up working my tush off cleaning all day and in the end no one even notices. Why? Because... I'm the only one who saw it to begin with.) Regardless, today I had one of those cleaning itches, which I am so glad I did. When we flipped the couch over... Oh My Goodness! It looked as though I had some little homeless kid living under there. There were toys, crayons, candy wrappers, marbles, you name it, and all piled in with some Major dust bunnies. It's a wonder we all haven't died sitting there breathing all that in. To me it was just a filthy gross mess. I felt like I needed a breathing apperatice, just to finish cleaning. Yet, to the girls it was like Christmas morning. Here they are snatching and grabbing and digging all in it, "Oh...so that's where that went!" Madisen grabs some nasty old ChapStick that was clearly trash..."Awe...that's mine!" All I could think was Surely you aren't going to use that! After seeing them like that, I've come to the conclusion ..."Clearly, I must be OLD, cause that is something I just don't get a thrill out of anymore!"

When locks just aren't enough

Ever since the kids could crawl they have always been under my heels. Taking care of the kids all the time without really having a break can get to you. Especially, when you live in a small house. We all know it’s great when our husbands come home to take some of the load off. But, just because he’s home it does not mean you’re off. Being the mom you are the 24/7 provider and that’s just the facts (at least in my house anyways). I sometimes feel like I just can’t catch a break. Everyone is always needing something, all the time. There really is no Me time until they are all in the bed asleep. About the only time I get to sit down is when I stop to pee. Even then it’s not without someone charging through the door in dire need of something. Years ago it started out with tiny little fingers reaching underneath the door and two eyes desperately trying to peek. So, some where over time it went from just plain cute to “why won’t they just leave me alone for five minutes!”. Over the years I’ve tried to remember to be smart and lock the door behind me. I feel like when I am in the bathroom showering, peeing or just putting on makeup it’s My time. My time to breathe and relax for just a moment, away from it all. Yet No one in this house gets that. Not the kids and certainly not my husband when he’s home. No, instead he's playing on the computer or watching TV, oblivious to anything. (My bad... I've spoiled him rotten!) So, no matter what I am trying to do in the bathroom, the knocking begins. Now you know you can’t hear anything outside a door when you’re showering. You yell back and forth and try to hear what is So important. Telling them to wait just isn’t an option, because they will still stand mumbling at the door until you shut off the water to answer. If you do turn off the water to hear, by the time you turn it back on you’re wondering whether or not you already washed your hair. Meanwhile here they are back two minutes later pressing their mouth against the crack of the door trying to talk to you again.
I know one day it will all come to an end and I will curse that peace I was so desperately wanting. So until then I will just hold my head behind that door, take a few breaths, sigh and answer them back sweetly.

Arguing with myself

Do you ever fight and argue with someone all day, without them even knowing? What I mean is its just all in your head. If you answered No, then you are thinking I need to be in a nut house because I am crazy. If you answered yes and laughed under your breath, then yeah your crazy too, ( just like me )! There's one thing about if your going to pick a fight with me you better be ready to dish it out, if your going to have any chance of winning. If not, the longer I stew about it the worse your going to get slammed in the end. You see, I will go over every single detail and scenario about it. It’s all day over and over arguing back and forth, all in silence. That way when it is time to finally hash it out I can be calm and collective, (well most of the time) and I will just let you have it.

Although, with kids you know most of the time you just don't have this option. You just have to think fast and seize the moment. Most times when this happens I spit out so much so fast that it makes no sense. I get so frustrated; I can't even get their names straight. Spitting out every other name before theirs and too much unneeded information and I just stand their like a blabbering idiot. It’s not as affective either I must say. Take for instance one morning when my girls are doing anything and everything but get ready on time for school. They'll stand in front of the TV half naked apparently trying to put clothes on. (What is so mesmerizing about that box I will never know?) If it wasn't that, then they were chasing the cat or fighting, instead of eating their breakfast. I'm in my room trying to get dressed, while trying to keep Jacob away from the toilet or out from under the bed. (since he refuses to stay in the playpen every morning). Every few minutes one of the girls comes to tell on the other. Meanwhile the clock is ticking and no one is near ready to walk out the door.
Going on ten minutes late... I have hit my breaking point after all my threats have failed and I hear a final whine of fighting. (Madisen to Kailey standing at the door; "don't push me...stop it!")

So... I go off on them, and end with "Now let's go, brush your teeth!”. Here they are looking at me back packs on ready to walk out the door, wondering why I said for them to brush their teeth. What I meant to say was "Now let's go, get in the car!” In a way correcting myself I just say "You know what I meant to say... Just go!”. I’m sure with all that confusion just they forget everything that was previous said, and figure they just better behave cause momma’s crazy.

Drink it and lets go!

I'm still battling the flu and I am really dreading the kids getting it. I know from when I used to work in the hospital vitamin C is a huge benefit when you are sick. Taking 2,000 mgs day once you first start felling sick will really help. (No, it won't kill you. Sure it may give you a little twitch but isn't that worth feeling better..Just kidding) Really, a lot of those in health professions swear by it. It seems to help you get over your sickness a lot faster than using nothing. For the kids I am just pushing a lot of vitamin C through orange juice, because they can't take the vitamins. Now Kailey loves oranges but this morning decided she hated orange juice. It's all because I said she needed to drink it because it was good for her. You would have thought I was giving her slop, a ground up vitamin drink or something. Here she sat making faces, and holding her nose to drink. It took her 45 minutes to get down half a glass. I never knew drinking a glass of squeezed oranges and sugar could be so difficult. Tired and sick I was not amused in the least little bit. I don’t understand why they have to be so difficult when you’re sick. It’s like they gang up on you and decide to kick you when you’re down. The fighting increases, homework becomes a struggle, all rules just go flying out the window as if they never existed. Let me tell you, their just loving taking advantage of the situation. If I didn’t feel like complete total crap I’d kill em, for sure.
Here’s a little tid bit for Kailey to prove mommies not just some crazy fool.
"Vitamin C is prized for its immune boosting benefits to the body. When you get a cold or the flu, the virus tends to attack your healthy blood cells, which then have fight back – this makes you tired and drains you of energy. When you drink orange juice or any other citrus juice packed with vitamin C, you are literally giving your healthy blood cells a boost of power to repel those nasty cold germs. Many people choose to take the tablet form of vitamin C. Either way, vitamin C is one of the most powerful home remedies you can take to fight off a cold." (http://www.1minutesolutions.com/)

Sorry for my lame post, but Give me a break. Did I not just say I don't feel good. Man, what do I need to do to get some symaphy around here.
