Crack addict Daddy?

An eyebrow raising conversation at the dinner table~
Madisen: "Daddy is that a line of crack?!!"

Very confused, she was a little upset with all our laughter.

Ps: Yes, I am in desperate need of new dishes. Any charity lovers out there feel free to donate at any time. Consider this as me standing here with my card board sign begging!

Re-run Monday

So, here's the run down...
School is out.
We are on No set schedule.
I'm trying to be lenient.
Rules are being bent.
The kids sugar intake should have been less for today!
We've been at the lake all day.
I'm exhausted, But the kids are still going 90 miles a minute.
Toys are EVERY where!
I am trying to over look it all and resist my compulsive urges and just let them be kids.
(which isn't easy!)
All in all I can't think or hear for that matter. Therefore, today is Re-run Monday.
Here's an old post in case you missed it!

Jabber Jaws
Madisen is our little ‘Jabber Jaws’, she constantly talks. All the way to school, all the way home from school, and then she will follow you all over the house talking. It seems like she doesn’t even take a breath. It’s just on and on and you can forget getting in a word. We have finally found a good use for all this talking. Now when we get those annoying solicitors or debt collectors calling, I just let her answer the phone. The first time I did this, I said “here answer this and tell whoever is on the phone about when you lost your tooth”. She thought I was crazy but still went along. It didn’t take them long to hang up. The more they tried to say “Is your mommy or daddy home?” the louder she talked about her story. After they hung up, she said “uh…they hung up on me!” I just laughed and explained to her what I did. Now that’s her favorite game to play. Needless to say most of those calls have stopped!

Beware It's Contagious!

Tonight all the speakers were turned up and Everybody was...
(You might as well stand up to watch this, because unless your paralyzed you can't sit still!)

Play <<< Play <<< Play <<< Play & Repeat

Thank You, Madisen my little sweetness!)

I now know what I will be singing in my head for the next Several days!
("Oh-oh-oh-oh Everybody Was Kung Fu Fighting...hmm, hmm, hmm")

Beach Baby

Summer 2005

I love this photo, it's also a reminder of this week. I've been letting the girls help, with the planning of Jacob's up coming birthday. I was thrilled to say Yes to Madisen when she excitedly said , " Can I pick what we do for Jake's birthday?". (She's not jealous but helping out, this will be great!) That was until she said "I think Jake wants to go to the beach for his birthday!" . "LOL...I'm sure he does sweetie! It's five hours away and we know how YOU love the beach!". Needless to say she wasn't too thrilled with my answer , and now we are trying to down grade her plans.

Friday's Foto Fiesta

I remember this day like it was yesterday. It was Christmas day and Madisen was about 4 or 5yr old. She had received that wing set as a present and was so thrilled running around saying "Abra kadabra..!" (to everyone! Notice , the headband is backwards.) Ever since Madisen was a baby she has always been two steps behind Kailey trying to do everything she does. (She was never a baby. She started walking at 10 months, just to keep up with her.) Anything that happened to Kailey of course happened to her. The day of this picture, she was stuck on the fact that Kailey had already lost a tooth. So, she went all around the house telling everyone she had lost a tooth. Everyone played along asking her where and how. Of course she pointed to a tooth that was still there and went on to tell all about it. Each time the story got bigger and longer of course using herself in it instead of Kailey. It was just too cute!

Friday's Foto Finish Fiesta

This was Madisen the other night at the supper table. Dinner first started out with her having her arms crossed pouting, because I was going to cut her corn and not Kailey's. After leaving it for her to eat off the cob (with no front teeth I remind you), she quickly changed her mind and realized I was right. (Imagine that! ) Continuing to eat with her lovely table manners (Chomp, smack, slurp, smack... My ears can't take it!! "Put the cow back in the barn, Madisen! ") She went into her complaining routine about her teeth.
"How much longer is it till I get my teeth?"
"Why does my corn have to be cut?"
"Why won't my teeth grow?"
"Can you see any teeth coming in?"
"It's Not fair!"
"Why can't I have teeth?" ..."I think this tooth is loose too, can you look at it?"(
She still doesn't get the fact that she can't afford to loose anymore teeth.)..."How much more do I have to eat to get desert?". From whining back to pouting. Next thing she's mumbling "Look mommy!"
With Madisen you have to be prepared for anything.( It's always unexpected with her; kinda like when your at the zoo watching those cute furry orangutans and all the sudden they start chucking poop at you. That kind of shock!) Therefore, I have to carry my camera on my hip like a cell phone, to catch these moments. The one thing that is killing our economy and my child has it stuck between her teeth!

Why me...not now?

Today Madisen had a pre-op dental visit, which was about an hour away. Since we were going that way, we spent the afternoon at a Nature center. No complaints there accept the fact that, every school within the state was there. (At least so it seemed) Later on our way to her appointment I found out it would be a three hour visit. (Which wouldn't have been such a surprise, had I read the pamphlet earlier.) Therefore Kailey went with my mom and we went on to the Children's Outpatient Center. Ten minutes after our arrival we're sitting in this huge waiting room, and two women with badges come walking straight to me. They asked if Madisen was my child and would I mind if they took pictures of her to endorse their hospital. I agreed and signed some paper work and they went on taking tons of pictures of her. Next they came back and asked to take some of Jacob and I. In my head I'm screaming, "No No No...Absolutely NOT!" (It was the hottest, most humid day we have seen in a long time. I'm tired, I feel hot, sticky, and frumpy and the last thing I want is a camera in my face). Of course the part of me that just can't say "No", because God for bid I hurt anyone's feelings said "Sure you can". Why is it these times happen when you look your worst? It's never when you've just walked out of a salon, and you look fabulous with the wind blowing. (Nope never!) So hours later I'm driving home on the interstate and the worst thought enters my mind. My luck… the next time I drive down this road I'll look up to some billboard and see my face plastered on it! That's when I would DIE of complete humiliation.

Bald to Beautiful

None of my kids were born with gobs of hair. Kailey had the most but even so it wasn't that thick luscious baby hair, I so wanted her to have.

Madisen and Jacob were born with that very thin barely visible blonde hair, on the verge of being plain out bald. About the only time you could see it was when it was wet.I had to tape bows in Madisen's hair just to get them to stay.

Now that Jacob finally has enough to see and brush, being the proud momma that I am I'm dying to show it off...
Here's his I'm a cool punk dude look..

Mom your embarrassing me, Enough pictures already!

~Grease lighting~

And just plain out wrong...

Bribery is a wonderful thing! I think I'll save this to blackmail him when he's older.

Interference to Heaven

Yesterday, I picked up both my girls from school and headed to the grocery store. They both had received balloons from a walkathon, so Jacob was squealing his little lungs out over the excitement of them. All the way there they bounced in their seats flipping them around all over the backseat, hitting each other. Had I known they were going to be pumped full of sugar and have these balloons, I would have never attempted the store and went before hand. (I'll just let you imagine how that went)
Excited to get back to the balloons after shopping, Madisen flung open her door and out came her balloon. Trying to salvage the day at a moments notice, I immediately start consoling her. I've been down this teary road before I knew immediate action was crucial . Explaining to her, don't panic it's okay 'Damon' will love chasing it when it gets to Heaven, she quickly calmed down. That was until as we were driving away and she noticed it stuck in a tree, and then there was no convincing her out of a complete and total melt down. (It was no longer just about loosing a balloon but a friend also... He will always be remembered. )

Our nighty entertainment

Unfortunately my girls have inherited my gene of sleepwalking. If I am really tired I will say and do all kinds of weird things. I see spiders and lights all the time. Once, I woke up in the middle of the night and thought someone was after me. My screaming woke up my husband and I beat the crap out of him, when he leaned over me. Once he could get me awake, I just start laughing. Something of which he didn't seem to find as funny. I woke him up one night to see if I could take his order and offered toast with his coffee. That's when you know you've worked way too much. This is something I have done since I was little and poor Jason just has to suffer with it. My girls unfortunately are taking after me. I caught Madisen next to my bed one night, sitting in the floor eating cheese. The same little girl who is terrified of the dark went down a long dark hall to raid the fridge. It's a good thing she has such a high metabolism, because I feel she will be one of these night feeders who eat while they sleep walk. Kailey bless her heart has it bad also. There are so many nights I wake up to breathing right in my face and hear she is leaned over looking me. Talk about waking up out of a dead sleep in a panic, it freaks me out. When you ask her what she needs she just starts talking mumbo-jumbo. At first I just think I can't understand her because I am so tired, and after a couple more questions I figure out what's going on. Then I have to get up and tuck her back in the bed. I get really frustrated with it, when I've been up with Jacob all night and I just got back to sleep.

Late last night just before bed, I turn around and there she stood right at me.

Me; "Kailey what's the matter are you okay? Do you need some medicine?"
(There she stood just blaring her eyes at me)

Kailey; "Well, you know the white package?"

Me;*blink -blink* "Um what?"

Kailey; (twisting her hands) "You know the white package! There’s a white bucket I use to put water in."

Me; " Oh-kay... I think you just need to go back to bed"

By this time Jason is walking in the room and Kailey smacks right into our
entertainment center, and stops. Jason looks at me and cringes and asks if she's okay. I'm right behind her giving him a look and waiting for the tears to start. Yet instead she just keeps right on going to her room. I tell her goodnight and go to kiss her but she just covers up and doesn't respond. Luckily she had no bruises and doesn't remember a thing. I worry one night she might just go right out the front door, which is why I think we need to invest in some good locks for all our safety.

There was no period in the whole story

Tonight both of the girls are off to sleep overs, leaving the house in unsettling silence. Kailey went to a friend’s house for a party and sleep over after school. I know she is in good hands but still my stomach is in knots with her gone. Madisen decided to go to my mom’s since Kailey is away. Kailey has yet to call home so I assume she is having a blast. She was already in sleepover mode when I left her this afternoon, and she ignored me talking to her friends. Madisen on the other hand has called three times in the last hour. She has yet to mention the big incident at school, which she told my mom about nonstop the entire way home from school. Apparently when she was in the bathroom today at school, and some older girl started her period for the first time. The whole incident was taking place when Madisen walked in the bathroom. She told my mom some girl was in the bathroom with blood all over her panties and …down there too! The girl was screaming and crying to other girls in the bathroom that she was dying. Madisen said she really thought she was dying, so she immediately started praying for her. As the other girls ran and got the teacher, Madisen panicked and made her way back to class. (I would imagine everyone there probably heard all about it. No doubt my little drama queen freaked out the entire class. So much for that girl’s privacy, huh) Well, she continued to tell my mom, she thinks the girl doesn’t eat enough and that’s why it happened. Which leaves me curious to know what else was said in class. My mom said she wasn’t going to touch the conversation with a ten foot pole, and refused to even comment on the story. I guess when she comes home I will have some explaining to do on her level about the situation. Until then I will at least know she will be eating well and she won’t forget her bedtime prayers.

Thirteen things about Madisen's Boo-Boo at school

1. She was running and having fun playing kickball .

2. Kayla tripped her and made her fall.

3. Blood was gushing EVERYWHERE.

4. Ms. Hept came running and carried her inside.

5. Everyone thought she was dying! (including her)

6. The teachers poured alcohol (peroxide) on it and boiled her knee.

7. They put lots of band aids on it.

8. She was still crying so they brought her candy.

9. She raced the teacher back down the stairs (the teacher informed me)

10. Back in the classroom she got lots of hugs and attention from the teacher.

11. Her friend Brianna told her it wasn't fair she was getting all the attention.

12. With a pouty lip, she limped to the car very slowly to come home.

13. She has propped her bum leg up on pillows and is now resting watching cartoons.

Tuesday Toddler Tales

Ever since Madisen was a toddler she has loved clothes. Before kindergarten she would sneak clothes into a back pack where ever she went. She was always changing clothes, all day everyday. I tried hanging all of her clothes up high in the closet to keep her from getting them. Still that didn't work, I would still catch her trying to climb on something to reach them. Before you knew it here she would be wearing something different or just layers upon layers of clothes. I remember, one time I was in a rush to get her to a Dr.'s appointment. Late after driving across town I jump out of the car to get her out. Little did I imagine what I would find in the car seat. There she sat in a pajama top and a pair of shorts, hair all a mess. I just panicked in disbelief trying to get her descent enough to go in.
Well, most kids go through a stage and then it's done with. Well not Mady now at age 7 she is still doing this! Every day after school she raids her pantie drawer and heads for the closet. After cleaning all day it drives me crazy to peak in her room and see the drawers hanging out with clothes spewing out of them. Hangers and clothes all over the floor. While she's running around in outfit after outfit. By evening there's toys and clothes all over and you can't even see the floor. The next morning I can't even distinguish what's clean and what isn't. That is if she doesn't clean up the night before. If for some blessing she does then clean clothes are tossed in the laundry, while others are crammed in the closet hanging on to dear life on hangers. I can just see she is going to be the teenager girl I dread. She'll be one of those who leave the house and change while their at school. I don't know what I'm going to do with her? All I can say is Thank Goodness Jacob was a boy!

Day at the Dentist

Yesterday I had to take Madisen to the Dentist. During her appointment Kailey and I waited in the waiting room. It’s such a small clinic and with having a sleepy 9 month old it wasn’t a good idea, for us all to be in the back the whole time. Here we sat in this tiny waiting room full of people. Kailey was trying to do homework, so I was trying not to talk to her. I hate sitting with nothing to do in such a confined area. The whole situation is just awkward to me. I don’t want to just sit and stare at the person in front of me. If you barely glance at them too long they instantly give some weird look, it's really uncomfortable. So then I try my darnedest not to look their way, which makes it even harder. (What do you do?) I hung my head and stared at the floor a while. I realized then I really need new shoes, a nap, the floor could really use some cleaning, and I feel like some depressed fool looking down so long. So I looked up for a while checking out those around, and stare at the wall and read what little signs are posted. Knowing I can’t read Spanish and I’ve read all the others so much I could repeat them by memory, I sat in boredom. Every five minutes felt like hours until the silence was broken and they called me. Thank goodness the torture was over so I could go home. She was such a big girl. This time they didn’t have to hold her down to clean her teeth. She didn’t even cry about having x-rays, it was wonderful. From the way she cried all week leading up to her appointment, I was pleasantly surprised. Turns out she’ll have to have one big appointment at the hospital at a later date. I think in the meantime I'm not going to tell her to avoid the anxiety and I will go buy some new shoes and a good book.

She's definately mine

Wordless Wednesday
