Clepto son

Today my little clepto maniac son got his little fingers down in my purse and found my phone. I really wouldn't care for him to play with it, but it's been broke. Well I should say it was half broke, Now it is completely broke. The top of my flip phone has been hanging on by one side for months. It's made for using it a real hassle. Trying to hold it together while talking. Funds have been short so I have just dealt with it. Today I came in with a arms loaded, groceries, Jacob and my purse. Somewhere in the process of making it through the door to the playpen, he snuck out my phone. Next thing I know he's holding only the bottom half of my phone, grinning from ear to ear. Yes, he's precious! It is unrepairable, and now I'm wishing I hadn't been such a tight wod and bought the lousy $5 a month insurance on it. At least the bottom half still works to call out. Unfortunately I will have no idea who I'm calling and the fact that I can't hear anything isn't good either. I guess in case of an emergency I will just dial out wait hopefully long enough for someone to answer on the other end and just start talking, hoping anyone can hear me! That plus the fact Jacob has been fussy all day, I was drenched in the rain and I can see my blog pictures aren't showing, it's been a Great day! (I say that with a fake smile) :)

  5. My son, a teenager, just dropped his phone in the toilet. A friend suggested going to ebay and buying a used phone to replace it, which is just what I'm going to do. Hope that works for you.

  11. You know... you can get a decent phone for relatively cheap on e-bay. Trust me, the insurance is worth about as much as buying a sturdy case for it.

  14. sounds totally like what happened to my old phone (it dangled on one end for weeks and then finally broke)... and that totally sounds like something my son would do to my perfectly UNbroken cellphone now.

  15. Thanks for visiting my blog! I totally relate to this one... *sigh*. Technology and kids just don't mix, it seems... I don't have a cell phone, but my husband and I both have laptops, which we had recently re-formatted and updated to work nicely again... Well, within about a week of fixing them, our little pumpkin had managed to break the screens on BOTH of them. Don't ask me how, I really have no clue...I think she stood on his when it was open, and then a day or two later I looked and there was a big black intrusive line straight across my screen. The sad thing is, the replacement screens cost just about as much as a new laptop- too much. So looks like I'm tied to the desk for a while now. Good luck with the phone issues, and have a great day!

  16. My two year old daughter has a fascination with my cell phone. I tried giving her an old cell phone (non-working) and a toy cell phone. Neither one of those were good enough! What's the fascination with our phones? Oh well, we'll look back and laugh at these moments!
